1657 - A woodblock print titled "Sellers of tofu and somen noodles" (Tofu to somen uri) shows two Japanese women. At the lower right, one woman is seated in the seiza position (on her heels) on the floor or ground behind a short table. On the table is one large cake of tofu (about 10 inches square and 3 inches high) and four smaller pieces (each about 6 inches square and 1 inch high) (#41123)
